About Bond Builders
Bob Bond began as a carpenter's helper in the 1970's. After being laid off, he picked up some jobs here and there, and soon discovered that he had a natural talent for carpentry, as well as a very necessary attribute for success in any job - self confidence. Bob took on the task of building a new home for his parents and found himself employing other workers. This was the beginning of Bond Builders, Inc. which has grown over the years from himself as the only carpenter to a staff of over 30.
Much of the company's early work centered around the renovation of commercial businesses in downtown Bar Harbor. The quality of that work resulted in offers for residential construction. Although Bond Builders still does commercial construction and renovations, we are primarily involved in the construction of high-end residences on Mt. Desert Island.
In 1985 Frank Reed came into the business and became Vice President. The company grew from 12 employees to over 30 in 2001 at which time Frank became the owner and president of Bond Builders.
	Each home is custom built with one or more special features that make it unique and elegant. Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to customer service is the mission of our company, and we continue to be one of the most successful custom builders in Acadia.
